Lakeshore Hotel — Sustainability & Community

Gold-Level Green Hotel Across All Properties | Lakeshore Hotel Taroko Tranquil — Taiwan's First Triple Carbon Neutrality Certification

Sustainable development is the way forward, and eco-conscious travel has become a defining trend in global tourism.

Grounded in a firm commitment to sustainability, Lakeshore Hotel actively advances green practices both within the property and across the wider community.

Lakeshore Hotel — Gold-Level Green Hotel Across All Properties

All Lakeshore Hotel properties under Lakeshore Hotel Group were awarded the Gold-Level Green Hotel certification by Taiwan's Environmental Protection Administration in 2022.

  • Through green procurement and systematic energy-saving measures, Lakeshore achieved a 16% reduction in energy consumption. Approximately NT$30 million was invested in upgrading and replacing aging energy-intensive equipment.
  • Eliminating the use of 1 million single-use water bottles — equivalent to planting 10,000 trees. Lakeshore no longer proactively provides single-use bottled water.
  • Going beyond reducing plastic — we pick it up too. In partnership with the Society of Wilderness (SOW), Lakeshore organized corporate beach cleanups across four cities in Taiwan, protecting 2,000 meters of coastline and removing 802.9 kg of marine debris — with the collected plastic bottles stacking to nearly the height of an 85-story building.
Lakeshore Hotel Taroko Tranquil — Three Major Carbon Neutrality Certifications

Through proactive carbon reduction measures and carbon trading, Lakeshore Hotel Taroko Tranquil has achieved a full balance between carbon emissions and carbon removal. The property has received verification and certification under ISO 14064-1 (Greenhouse Gas Management) and ISO 14067 (Carbon Footprint Management), and was the first hotel in Taiwan to achieve PAS 2060 Carbon Neutrality certification.

Staying true to our founding commitment, our sustainable actions will never stop. Our goal is to achieve a 3% reduction in carbon emissions by 2025.
